All valid members will receive an official sponsor letter for our World Championship. We do not directly contact embassies or immigration offices, however we respond promptly to their verification emails and calls. Every year, international masters and students successfully attend our events from abroad.

Before a sponsor letter is issued, your membership must be active and all tournament entry fees fully paid. Participants must register for a minimum of two categories.

You may join as an individual or through Clubs, Academies, Associations, and Federations. WUMF is strictly non-political — everyone is welcome, and multi-membership with other organisations is permitted.

WUMF Commissioners must exclusively represent WUMF and wear the official badge at all events, including external federation events. Standard valid members and official commissioners hold different statuses.

Every year, WUMF presents the prestigious Best Masters Award — exclusively available to active WUMF members holding a 6th Dan and above.

We encourage all members to pursue our official International Referee qualifications. The full progression pathway is shown below:

Member federations must be self-governing, legally registered entities with democratic executive elections. WUMF accepts no legal or financial responsibility for the independent actions of its member organisations.

All member organisations must remain entirely non-political, non-religious, and strictly free from discrimination based on race, gender, or background.

Only active, valid members are authorised to use the official WUMF logo. WUMF reserves the right to take legal or disciplinary action against any expired or non-members using our branding without permission.

We are delighted to promote our members' competition achievements, news, and updates on the official WUMF website and social media channels.

Members can purchase high-quality martial arts equipment from our official partner, Hyoshin Brand, guaranteeing excellent pricing and quality. Hyoshin Brand will soon also offer computer and tatami (mat) rentals at highly competitive rates exclusively for WUMF members.
